Starting with Little Ben, he initiated the contact by running up to someone bigger than him and Karma paid him in full, even if he did dive like his Pittsburgh comrade Sidney Crosby. The fine on Seymour as well as the ejection were warranted, and a suspension is out of the question. I don't see why Steelers have to whine and moan every time there is an "injustice" against their franchise. They have some of the dirtiest players in the NFL, and yet they are catered to when it comes to their games. Need I remind anyone of the non-call against the Bengals in the Wild Card round of 2005, where Kimo von Oelhoffen (a former Bengal intent on screwing his team over, and coincidentally a former Boise State Bronco) intentionally made the late hit that tore Carson Palmer's knee apart? I think not...Especially since they then went on to be handed a Super Bowl against the Seahawks. They were then handed another one at the misfortune of the Cardinals. Let us not mention the oft-fined James Harrison, or the equally dirty and mouthy Hines Ward, both of which should have been run out of the NFL years ago. Either way, fans in Pittsburgh need to stop whining so much...It doesn't make their already crappy image look any better.
Now on to the fun part: Boise State and Texas Christian. I was recently posting on the ESPN FanNation's site about the same thing, and I did a little homework. "Now that I look at TCU's season I see they did beat Utah and Oregon State, both good teams. Other than that, I don't see much. As for Boise, they've beaten Va. Tech (barely, the same Va. Tech team that followed the path of Michigan against Appalachian State) as well as Oregon State. The biggest team since then is Hawai'i (who has fallen off the radar since Colt Brennan left). The other games are as follows (though not in chronological order): Wyoming, Toledo, NM State, SD State, La. Tech, Idaho, and Fresno. Out of those, Toledo, Hawai'i and Fresno have winning records. Undefeated doesn't mean much when it's against those kind of teams." That was one of my posts on the matter, and if I were an unbiased outsider looking in, I'd say that's a fairly logical post. Of course, anyone who hates Ohio State (since I DO live in Columbus), finds my logic flawed and they also accuse me of pulling a "copypasta", even if I hadn't logged into the site in over a year. Anyway, I just felt the need to use what most sports fans seem to lack these days: Intelligence...
...Which brings me to an off-topic matter. Would if be too much to ask for the people of this country, nay, the world (look at the recent attacks from the DPR Korea on the ROK) to display some more intelligence? If only for one day can we have a "smart day"? I highly doubt it, thus exacerbating the situation in the world. Anyway, thus ends my rant of the night. Hopefully those that eventually read this enjoy it.
Before I take off, though...Let me say this. If you intentionally come to this blog looking to troll me, you'll be hard pressed to succeed in doing so.
