Why is the US showing more and more stupidity?

Today, while watching a YouTube video of Panamanian footballer Luis Moreno pushing an injured owl off the pitch in a match in Columbia, I had noted beforehand that folks were stating that he kicked the injured bird of prey. Yes, he moved the dazed and shocked animal with his foot. No, he did no kick the bird. Kicking implies much more force and a full strike. Watching the video, I noticed Mr. Moreno pushing his toe under the bird as he walked by, "flinging" the animal the three meters it needed to go to come off the pitch.

That is not the point of this post. It is only the creator of my thoughts on stupidity, especially in the United States. Not long after noting my observation, I received an e-mail telling me that the uploader of the video, a YouTube user named "Paintmask", had, much like an angry 6th-grader, started a small rant upon me. To quote "Paintmask"...

"Oh yeah? Well let me use that same "Flinging Motion" on your face... See if you're okay with it. This is world... Is Shitty... God should really take an AK 47 and Shoot you all the fuck down. Since. you're stupid and you don't understand what this world is really about... AND FUCK YEAH USE VIOLENCE ON THE VIOLENT! BULLIES MUST DIE!!!"

I don't feel that I need to go into much detail about why this kid is little more than part of a growing trend of "stupid Americans." After making my mere observation about the bird being pushed off the pitch, I was attacked by someone who feels that violence against people is a good way to make up for a footballer's poor decision in the heat of the moment in Columbia. Too bad for Paintmask that the "AK 47" does not exist. The official designation for the Avtomat Kalishnikova 47 is the AK-47. Furthermore, there are all sorts of holes in his logic, let alone his grammar and punctuation. I admit that I am nowhere near perfect, but I do seem to have at least a firm grasp of the subject matter in both written English and the video at the heart of his feeble attempt to anger me...Such an act is known in Internet circles as "trolling." The number one rule about dealing with trolls is to "not feed them."

As Keith Olbermann would say at the end of his "Countdown" broadcasts in the spirit of Edward Murrow...

Good night and good luck.
